Athangudi Palace

Athangudi Palace is a heritage mansion in Chettinad. It displays the best of the typical features of a chettiar home: open courtyards, elaborate verandahs, and a gorgeous amalgamation of European and Indian architecture. Pillayarpatti Temple

Karpaga Vinayagar Temple is one of the oldest cave temple in Tamil Nadu and is situated at Pillayarpatti. Here, Lord Vinayagar appears with two hands, unlike in More Places, where he is seen with four hands. The six-feet presiding deity is called karpaga vinayagar (valampuri posture). Over 15 inscriptions are found in the temple.

Kundrakudi Murugan Temple

Kundrakudi Murugan Temple is one of the important temple of Lord Murugan. The temple is situated on a small hill with a few hundred steps. The history of the temple dates back more than 1200 years. It could have been constructed and maintained by the Pandya Kings. At the foot hills is a cave temple dedicated to Shiva with a 5-tiered gopuram. There are three caves here. The first houses a shivalingam. One of the walls bears a sculptured image of a Vishnu, while the other bears an image of Linga Purnadeva, being worshipped by Bramma, with a swan above him and a four-headed vishnu bearing a sangu (conch) and chakra.
