Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of the oldest zoo in the history of India. Thiruvananthapuram Zoo houses approximately 85 species of animals from around the world. A house has been specially built for a large section of snakes, tortoises, turtles, and other reptilian creatures. The snake farm includes both venomous and non-venomous snakes. In the same vicinity, the famous Napier Museum is located. Originally built in 1855, the old museum building was to be replaced in the name of Lord Napier, the governor of Madras.

Set up in the church of St. Magadelene near the thumba Equatorial Rocket Launch Station (TERLS) in the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center compound, the space museum shows the story of the Indian Space Programme in six sections comprising history, education, technology, applications, global, and the future. The exhibits include the various parts of a space shuttle, with detailed descriptions of how they are used. Models of all the space shuttles that were created in India are found in the museum, with information about the year of making, people associated with them, the purpose and purpose of the launch, people associated with them, the purpose, and the status of the launch. The models are placed chronologically, which allows one to understand the space history of the nation. A full-scale space suit can also be found among the displays. A movie theater with a surround sound system screens a space programme. The future of space makes up the last stages of the museum. Scientific art effects of interest include a full-scaled model of the PSLV, a PSLV heat shield, and scaled-down models of the GSLV, GSLV MK-3, and ATV.

Kerala State Science and Technology Museum is in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city.
