Sri Ranganatha Swami Temple is known as one of the world's largest functioning Hindu temples. It is also one of the most significant of the 108 Divya Desams. The temple is enormous in size. The temple complex is 156 acres in extent. It has seven prakaras, or enclosures. These enclosures are formed by thick and huge rampart walls that run around the sanctum. There are 21 magnificent towers in all Prakaras, providing a unique sight to any visitor. This temple lies on an islet formed by the twin rivers Cauvery and Coleroon.

RockFort Temple

The most famous landmark in Tiruchirapalli is Rockfort Temple. It is also called Ucchi Pilaiyar Kovil. It is in the heart of the city. This is a 275 feet tall rock structure. It is reached by a step-flight of 437 steps cut into the rock. Halfway up is the Sri Thayumanaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has a 100-pillared hall and a vimana. There are inscriptions in these temple that date back to the 3rd century B.C. From its summit, tourists can get a fantastic view of the town plus its other main landmarks, Srirangam, the Cauvery River, the Coleroon River, the Thiruvanaikal Kovil, etc.

Anna Science Centre Planetarium

The planetarium is the main attraction of the Anna Science Center. The planetarium has about 11 galleries, and each of them portrays the characteristics of multiple energies of mother nature, the earth, science, and technology. Apart from the astonishing treats of science, astronomy, and space missions, there are many highlights of the science center, such as the Environment Gallery, Evolution Park, Fun Science Gallery, Herbal Garden, and Science Park. The science center has many 3D films like "Shark Island,Magic Show, and Roller Coaster".
The planetarium also has a vigyan prasar, an edusat facility to try science around the world, and a system that has details about the science centers in more than 50 countries.
